So what are the drawbacks of obtaining a psychic reading?
The drawbacks can be numerous, particularly if you don’t consult a good genuine psychic. Or if you are not in full possession of all the facts about how to chose the right psychic then you are leaving yourself open to a lot of potential pitfalls. Make sure that you do not rush off to see a psychic for the very first time as a knee jerk reaction to an emotional situation. You really need to be able to understand at least a little about what a psychic does, how it all works and know how to find a a genuine one first of all. Never see a doctor, employ a builder or buy a car from any one or company or individual that you are not sure is reputable. The same holds true for your choice of psychic consultant and perhaps it is even more important in this instance! Why would that be true when buying a car from the wrong place could loose you thousands or even be a serious safety concern? In any trade, there are the good and then there are the others…do some research and be sure to consult the best that you can. A bad psychic can cause some individuals a lot of needless emotional heartache and money.
Don’t base your choice of consultant on price or speed of delivery alone. Yes, there are companies packed to the rafters with many people waiting to give you a reading- but are these people genuine and gifted? When you see adds offering ‘free’ readings or minutes, be suspicious. Could you afford to work for free all day and every day? Do you not think that in whatever job you do that you offer a service to those who employ you and should be paid for your time and effort? As the saying goes, ‘there is no such thing as a free lunch’, any psychic offering you readings for free has another way in mind of getting paid by you. I happen to feel that this is underhand and not good practice at all. Expect to pay a fair price for a fair service. On the other hand, if a psychic makes ridiculous unsubstantiated claims and is charging an exorbitant fee- avoid them too. If a psychic ‘Claims’ to be a psychic to the stars, famous, as seen on TV etc. have they any proof you can see? Just like any company, consultant or individual making such claims- ask for proof of it. If they object and don’t produce it- avoid them like the plague, as if they are telling lies from the beginning- how likely is it that things will get better from there on? Slim at best.
It may not be as simple as worrying about being duped, think about it. A bad psychic can do a lot more harm than good. You need to be very sure about a few things before you proceed in my humble opinion.
Will my reading be confidential- the last thing you want is a consultant who will repeat anything private about you anywhere, sell you email address or private details to scamming companies or even other psychics! Check their policy on confidentiality- if they don’t have a privacy policy -beware. Why don’t they have one?
If you choose to go via a large company, can you be sure that the five hundred ‘accurate psychics’ they just happen to have sitting there waiting for your call are really genuine and accurate psychics? Or do they just employ anyone to waffle to you on the phone?
Beware any service that offers additional products, like spells or those that try to persuade you that you need to buy or pay for this or that to improve your life. Ask yourself this, why would a good genuine and gifted consultant try to ‘up sell’ you anything? An accurate ethical psychic, is just that. They will be busy reading for and helping those who need or require their service, far to busy to sell you products or persuade you to buy a ’spell’ or spell kits etc.!
Is the person your consulting actually a stable individual who doesn’t just assume they are psychic? I have heard reports of many a horror story concerning quite disturbed individual who clearly have a bit of a ‘god’ complex saying the most awful (untrue) things to people and of them trying to bully people in to doing exactly what they say as part of some deluded power trip during a consultation. If this happens to you during a reading, stop the reading and leave immediately. Do not be taken in by talk of curse removal or individuals who advertise with such sales copy as ‘ God given psychic’ etc. If you are told anything unpleasant or threatened in in way- disregard every word of it and never go near them again. Such individuals who do such things are unlikely to be real psychics and are saying such things to play on your mind or insecurities and I can guarantee what they are saying to you is not true. If any consultant tells you that you are cursed or in danger and you need this lucky charm or that- leave, don’t give it a second thought or allow it to play on your mind for a moment- as that is what they want. These people are not psychics but scam artists.
Bad attitude- Do you think your are good at your job, well trained or skilled? I sincerely hope you do and have some measure of confidence in your abilities. Do you run around claiming to be so special, completely unique in your skills, god gifted, the only one in the world that can do what you do, better than everyone on the planet etc.? I hope you don’t, as there is a huge difference between being confident and being overly arrogant. If you should come across a person claiming to be psychic who is this arrogant and thinks themselves so special with divine rights from god etc- consider this- even if they are one hundred percent right on that (I would severely doubt this is the case) how useful is a consultation from such a person going to be? After they spend half of your consultation telling you how fabulous they are, the rest will be a biased tirade of their own opinion. Not much use to you as an impartial psychic consultation! Psychics are just people like anyone else, who happened to be gifted in a psychic sense. You may be good at drawing, maths, or architecture, this fact doesn’t exhaust you to a god like status above the rest of the human race now- does it? You need to find a psychic who is reputable, gifted, perhaps proven in some way in their field and minus any god complex! You need a psychic whom is able to tune in, provide a reading and be able to be as impartial as possible whilst they impart the information that the pick up on a psychic level to you- for you to be able to make choices that benefit you. You may afterwards if you want to- ask for an opinion if you decide that they are the sort of person you would be happy to accept sensible advice from and they are comfortable giving it- then great, everyones happy. However a psychics job is to impart accurate information to you - tell you what they see happening if you take this path or that in an impartial manner. You need to make your own mind up and chose for yourself what path to follow. You don’t go to a psychic to be bullied at the end of the day.

Why do so many mediums try to claim that they have channeled Elvis, Marilyin Monroe, Lady Diana etc? Publicity is the short plain response in my humble opinion. I all honesty, myself as a psychic cannot understand why it is often ‘the Queeb of Sheba or a famous actor’. With this ‘type’ of medium its never a farmer or humble slave or famous scientist or scholar. Whilst it’s true in my experience that you cannot choose whom decides to communicate from spirit, I really feel that the likes of Elvis or Ms Munroe may have other fish to fry or may even perhaps ‘not’ be even be the best people to claim have come through with words of great wisdom- bacuse as much as we love them, neither were specialy known for their extensive knowledge, clear thinking or services to world peace or advancement. Why would these souls choose to come and have a chat at a seance. It’s possible I guess but I am extremly dubious (even being a psychic myself) when a meduim claims to have contact with a stream of famous celebs on a daily bassis.
Be honest with yourself- why do you want a psychic reading and are you in a fit state to have one? If you are drunk or drugged- don’t consult, your wasting your time and theirs. If you have an addiction problem, don’t be surprised if a genuine psychic starts your reading and perhaps stops and tries to refer you to someone instead who can help with your addiction problem. A psychic cant cure you or wave a magic wand and make everything better, they are only there to provide you with psychic information and incite. They may be able to suggest a way through for you but it is you who will have to do the hard work if you want change. No psychic can bring back a lost love, tell you how to win the lottery or sort out your kids but-they can give you the tools to enable you to make improvements.
Are you prepared to hear the truth? A percentage of people complain they didn’t have a very good psychic reading without imparting much details as to why they feel this to be the case. If questioned further, a portion of those will admit that yes, the psychic was accurate, the details they gleaned on a psychic level were accurate, no they didn’t try to bully me or anything bad but-I didn’t like or wasn’t ready to hear what they had to say. When you press further they will admit that the psychic told them what was or would happen but at the time, they just didn’t care to hear it! So don’t go to a psychic if your not ready to hear the truth about a situation as you will feel resentful and not enjoy the experience. Be extremely careful of any psychic that you consult that seems to imply that everything in the garden in one hundred and ten percent rosy, that your life is perfect and nothing has any room for improvement. As if this happens there are only three possible reasons for it, 1. They just maybe an appallingly bad psychic. 2. You are that one in a million lucky soul who seems to have a charmed and perfect life or 3. They don’t have the heart to tell you the truth or have allowed you to subtly (or not so subtly) persuade them to say what you would like to hear rather than the facts they are actually picking up. Remember to to be open to hearing some stuff that may make you feel a little uncomfortable and don’t shoot the messenger!
